Description: 
Originally native to Europe, it is now known all around the world. It has been popular since Greek and Roman times, used by them for medicinal to treat bacterial infections of cuts and wounds and for culinary purposes. The name comes from the Greek "oros," meaning mountain, and the word "ganos," meaning joy or delight. The oregano leaves are air-dried or used fresh and the oil is extracted by steam distillation.

Properties:
Antibiotic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal.

Massage:
This oil, due to its anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe many types of inflammation, redness and relieve pain associated with arthritis or injury. It is known to be able to reduce inflammation, it also has certain painkilling properties.
Used during a massage it can be soothing when the lungs and throat are inflamed because of colds and flu.

Skincare:
Studies have shown that this oil may be effective as a strong antibiotic against certain bacterial infections, it's strong antimicrobial properties can be helpful in treating wounds and cuts. It may help heal psoriasis, eczema and athlete's foot, improve skin quality and help with wound healing.

Homecare:
As it has antiparasitic properties, this oil may be useful when added to sprays as a component of bug sprays and repellents.
