Description: 
Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) is a type of tall grass native to Indonesia. The crushed Citronella leaves are highly aromatic with a very refreshing, floral, lemony citrus aroma. The name Citronella stems from the French word meaning Lemon Balm. The leaves are steam distilled to extract this 100% Pure Essential Oil. Citronella Oil has been used for its recorded history by the Chinese and Indonesians as a natural insect repellant and to treat infections and rashes.

Properties:
Some of Citronella essential oil's properties are known to be antibacterial, antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, insect repellent, and stimulant.

Massage:
Add Citronella essential oil to your favourite massage oil for a wonderful uplifting massage. It is known to reduce muscle spasm, ease headaches and boost energy.

Hair Care:
Citronella added to hair care products conditions the hair, protects from sun damage, boosts volume and removes tangles.

Skin care:
Citronella has certain antifungal properties that may help fight fungal infections This oil can be added to creams and oils to help kill germs and fungi, to promote wound healing and improve skin health. Citronella can be added to a lotion as an insect repellant but will need to be reapplied regularly if used for that purpose.

Home care:
Add roughly 10 drops of citronella to a spray bottle to freshen up and deodorize a room with its relaxing and uplifting scent. Citronella can also be used added to your natural household cleaning products.

Citronella used in the diffuser can at times have a relaxing and stimulating effect, dependent on the individual. It can be used to add a pleasant uplifting scent through the room.
